A: Upon final prepress approval, production time is typically 5-10 days with another 3 weeks or so for shipping. Some projects can take longer depending on the complexity of production.
A majority of this time is devoted to ocean shipping. Expedited shipping can be arranged, however, for quicker turn projects. With the Johnson Group, we can offer the speed and turnaround you need state-side but leverage the economies of Asian markets.
A: The paper stock used overseas is subtly different than domestic stock. Domestic brand name papers are not available in Asia, and paper weight is measured in grams per meter. Although it is difficult to specify a particular paper, your Supply Solutions representative can convert your domestic specifications and recommend a comparable Asian stock. Paper samples are also available for your review.
A: Your Supply Solutions representative is also adept at managing the myriad of shipping and customs issues that are part of the overseas printing process.
These fees are included in your project cost estimate, which includes ocean freight. Expedited air freight can add significantly to the cost of an overseas printing project. Therefore, it’s important to work with a source like Supply Solutions to make sure that your project is produced on time and on budget. With the Johnson Group, we can offer the speed and turnaround you need state-side but leverage the economies of Asian markets.
A: Yes, offshore stock is measured using the metric system. The weight of metric paper is given in grams per square meter (gms). One square meter is one A0 size sheet or 16 A4 size sheets. Conversely, the weight of U.S. letter size paper is given in pounds per 500 sheet ream of uncut C size paper.
